I recently spent a couple of days in Plymouth visiting a friend of mine and we popped into a local art gallery at the Barbican, they had some nice paintings as well as some unusual china. I asked about the china and found out that it was by a Company called Dennis Chinaworks. The pieces they had in the gallery were mainly sea related, a lobster vase, a fish vase and a pot with a crab sitting on the top. I thought the work was really pretty and will definitely keep an eye out for more of it in the future!

On Saturday 31st October 2009 a statue of King Bladud was unveiled in Parade Gardens in Bath. Sculpted by Pieroni in 1859, the statue once stood on the top of the fountain in Bath Street. It now stands alongside a stone carved pig.
Parade Gardens is located in the centre of Bath and overlooks t
he River Avon, in the summer it has some interesting 3d floral displays and is a nice place to sit and relax.
Claws crossed for a Lion
A pride of 100 life-size lion sculptures will be taking up residence in and around Bath from May to October 2010. They will be sponsored by businesses, local communities and individuals, and will be decorated by a variety of different artists. At the end of the summer all of the lions will be auctioned for charity.
I have put my name down as an artist and now have to wait and see if I get picked! I quite like the idea of having a Lion in the living room and so claws crossed I get one!
